Money from the new (last year) 'Conservation set-asides' was diverted to increase raw commodity price supports - the over-all tab remains the same: record highs. >>> (Of course, this extra money for price supports was ear-marked as 'disaster relief'... but the 'disaster relief' component of the spending has remained relatively constant over the last five years... each year used as a way to bust out of the spending constraints imposed by the farm price support 'reforms' they enacted a few years ago.
