But if you are on the right, and running the country, you have to take your lumps>> Bush isn't on the right. He's got his own thingy going! Starting to believe his own press, A legend in his own mind. SUrrounded by too many yes men. THe media has gotten him to where he is today! (I remember the first time every station said he was charming. "What were they watching, I remarked to myself?") Pretty good for a "c"student, CHEERLEADER, AWOl pilot who refused to take drug tests during Vietnam. Yesterday I thought it was all over. I was reacting to every individual thing the administation did, aghast at the moxey in every step of outrage. THen I did what I like to do. Look at all the tactics that have been executed and look backward to devine the the strategy and objectives. When one does this it is apparent that these actions have been in the Administrations's plan for a long time. Way before the Supremes selected the King. This is the plan from the early 90's which was thwarted by Clinton and the Democrats. It makes sense now. No wonder they hated him and the Dems so much. But now the middle and lower levels of awareness have begun focusing on "what the heck is happening?" I think the duct tape brought it home to everybody.(NO matter what the stripe.) The cannons may turn yet. THe far right, the left, middle left and middle may all of a sudden this weekend say (As Tony Soprano says so well), "What the F---?" Attention must be paid. Our finest, worst, scariest, most unbelievable hour. THe CHurch leaders may bring it home. The media may begin to crumble. This is very, very bad for advertising revenues. If we can find a way to declare success, have a parade and a renewing of the Allies' vows (Germany/USA/France) at the Statue of Liberty the market is good to go at 10,000 by year end. Bringing all those GI's home unscathed and declaring America more protected and peaceful is a gigantic talking point for 2004. (I hope Karl Rove is listening.) But if the President needs a War-Time-Victory to define his presidency we may be toast. The Dems gave him the power last fall. Bush's grasp on this "Fix" may be more seductive that a quart of Chopin. The beauty part is that this Administration is Soooo obvious, everybody may get it at the same time! STill time to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat. Rascal@ Iwritefiction.com
