I was comparing Dell with WAG and WMT who are actually doing quite well. Dells ROE is about double
But Wag has 3880 stores and Wmt has 3233 stores
To add 33% to sales they would have to build or buy 1000+ stores each and man them. And many of the best spots are already taken.
All Dell has to do is is add another centralized call center and run a third shift to get a 33 % growth.
It is so ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh efficient, as Dell keeps saying

7:14AM Dell Computer upped to Buy from Neutral at First Albany; target $30 (DELL) 23.25: The upgrade and new $30 price target is based on a favorable risk/reward ratio for the shares. Relative to firm's concerns about industry pricing, mgmt does not believe things have intensified and the growth in operating margins shows its model can react. Also believes the expiration of co's put option program could provide some uplift to the share price, in that Dell can now repurchase about double the shares for the same cash usage.

I wonder if First Albany is a french company. If their research was good they would know the state of Dell before they reported. Now they jump on the bandwagon to claim credit after the fact.

Viva Dell!
