True but I remember reading that one time the land under the imperial palace was worth more than the entire state of California. That's a serious disconnect.

Equity inflation, in both the stock market and real estate was much further out of whack in Japan in the late 80's than it is now in the U.S.. Japan had, and still has, much more excesses to work out of the economy than we do now.
