He grew up in fascist Italy while Mussolini was rising to power. As a child he remembers the soldiers marching the streets and he yelled insults to them...............he once hid in an outhouse and had a man in a neighboring outhouse hauled off because the fascists didn't think a small child like himself would yell such nasty remarks. He was 10 at the time and didn't realize the consequences of his vocalization. He still feels bad about that incident and remembers what happened when the gov't didn't like verbal opposition. He is afraid that Bush will start similar consequences to his opposition.

Which I took to mean you were implying Bush would become a fascist dictator.

He can't. He is a President, not a dictator. And he knows it. We have opposition parties and elections in this country. And a Constitution. And a military sworn to uphold that Constitution, NOT the President.

which means he cannot legally, he knows it, and the military and the rest of the gov't (and the populace) would not support him in a power grab.
