I just can't believe some of the stuff I read here.

What pray-tell is it that NASA isn't doing? Tell me what it is they should do? I'm curious to hear what the common lay-men think.

Yogi - We have to find a balance here between unnecessarily endangering the astronaut's lives and guaranteeing 99.9% safety.

Well, somewhat obviously that isn't going to happen. 99.9% is almost certainly impossible no matter how much money we spend. As for a life being more important because it is high profile - obviously some truth to that EXCEPT when they are high profile because they are high risk. Astronauts are famous in large part because they are high risk explorers.
