That's pathetic. <<Social leaches will ultimately destroy our economy>> Actually our economy has been substantially more stable and more robust since all the great social programs and redistributive taxes of the post-depression era have been enacted. We suffered two depressions, in 1907 and then in the 30's. We've seen nothing like that since the economy drastically socialized in response to the Great Depression. You know things like Social Security, the department of Labor, the FDIC, progressive income taxes, and on and on and on. In the roaring '20's the poverty rate was around 40%, now it's just over 10%. The idea that these social programs will destroy our economy is absurd. Steve
