The world tried getting rid of smallpox forever. Didn't work, there are still stores of smallpox in weapons labs all over.

I'm not even in favor of Russia getting rid of all theri nukes, especially when faced with Islamic threat.

US dismantle all nukes - NO way. Probably lead to internal Civil War. If this became a significant issue, politicians advocating it would not only not be electable, but would be unlikely to survive long enough to implement it.

Whole world gang up up on U.S. - The U.S. would have a lousy time surviving with out trade, but could do it.

Lots of countires can't survive wtih out U.S. market.
