makes sense.... meanwhile in the long run I suppose one should try to change mindset much of the world has about the US. Unfortunately it seems many possible short term actions could be at odds with this. Just pondering... probably thinking too much :)

Oh, El Mat, I cannot resist. As you ponder the "other side" and its options I can't help but chuckle with the Star Trek joke going around: Why is there no mention of arabs or muslims in general on any of the shows? Ans: It is in the future.
Sorry, not many with me yet...but there will be...sorry CB...I am a redneck with too much time in school and I grew up under threat of MAD, seeing difference now in that we could in those years at least trust the Soviets to try to preserve and protect their children. Though I detest the shrub I confess I hail from his state and remember daily now the refrain, you cantake the boy out of TX but not TX out of the boy.
And remember Rameses' admonition about Moses (Heston) in the 1955 film "Ten Commandments"..."Let him rave on that men may know him mad". Yeah, I know someone else said it first but I am having a senior moment and I cannot remember who it was. So I will probably continue to be tolerated because of my occasional input on bioterrorism. It will get worse. Dottage has its upsides. I will not got to the grocery with my 87 year old mother. She will stand at the vegatable counter and pop the asparagus, and to my protestaion she looks back at me and says something to the effect that she doesn't want to buy something she is just going to take home and throw away. "What are they going to do? Arrest me? I am just a demented old lady"
