Paul, what are gold, the buck and crude telling us? I am a bit confused as well. I thought that the idea was that the market "wants" a war or some other less likely scenario in which Iraq is disarmed so that the overhanging tension can be lifted. But it seems that the immediate reaction to Blix giving an impression that Iraq is cooperating to a degree, and thus war may be postponed, is a cliff dive in gold, crude weakening and a pop in the usd and equities. I don't get it.
