"You are in fact a 100% (strict) materialist."

Again, you do not get it. Just because materialism is the only reality anyone has been able to experience or logically posit does not mean that something beyond our comprehension may not exist. The fact that we know that we know next to nothing behooves us to not confine ourselves with labels. Of course, I am a materialist. It is practically a necessity for intelligent people. But I am not a "strict" materialist.

Also, Greg, you need to make the distinction between my ability to acknowledge and value the mystery of the unknown...and my ability to honour reason in the process of discarding fancies that are not only mercurial but logically repugnant. Your idea that the savage, brutal, misogynistic, and racist scribblings (replete with the absurdities, contradictions, and inanities of superstitious, primitive, and pre-scientific tribes) should or can be associated logically with our ideas of Divine and Holy is far too ridiculous for serious contemplation.

"Of course this means you are reduced to nothing but a meat machine and yet you are trying to use rational coherent arguments to prove that reason has nothing to do with the things we do. It's all chemical and behavioral. What lies "beyond freedom and dignity"? Slavery and degradation."

We are "reduced" to "nothing but a meat machine"--because we have a brain and the ability to reason--and the capacity to feel and to cherish? HUH???

We ARE biological entities, Greg. So far as anyone knows we have not been "reduced" to that state! It is not a shameful state, after all! You weren't born an evil twisted sinning piece of crap! :-)

"What lies "beyond freedom and dignity"? Slavery and degradation."

Somewhat off topic, but you are right about that, Greg!

"You can't be done in because you do not exist according to your view"

You are making absurd assertions...

"If the view you hold is self refuting then it falls by it's own weight"

Naturally. Right twice in a day! Enjoy your trip!
