I think the networking people are still in really bad shape here, as well as PCs but software is definitely improving. No more layoffs, stability and a little hiring I mean. What we are seeing a little of is companies like Cisco adding IT staff, but only as contractors and for the same rates as permanent people get. So in other words, contractor rates at half of peak. Still- its work and we had none of that for a long while. Applied and SCEs laying off more, and imo outsourcing is being thunk through a little more than in 01/02 when it was just a massive dump of entire IT depts to india.
