re:you don't think there will be any need for reconstruction money for Iraq or the region... and no need for our troops to be expensively based there...

Iraq will have enough oil revenue to pay for everything, including US troop presence.

Especially after they stop giving 150 million to France every month for military hardware.

Where did you get the idea that I thought reconstruction will be expense free? At least intitially, until the oil fields are repaired from whatever Saddam destroys, a large US $$ commitment will be necessary and it will be worht every penny to see another democracy take root in the ME. However, my original point was that removing US troops from the muslim holy lands might help to reduce tensions in the region once the shooting in Iraq is over.
