The thing that bothers me is what it will take to get to lower levels. I want opportunity as much as the next guy but its kind of a morbid thought to think that something like a chemical weapon could be the catalyst. The one thing I can't help but wonder is this - everyone is planning as if war is a 100% deal. There have been several other things that I thought were sure bets as well only to be surprised. What if we don't go to war at all? It sounds far fetched but what if? I don't have the answers to what if....it would be such a surprise and yet I'm not totally sure (from a pure market perspective) that it would be good for stocks. I know this sounds terrible but if we have no war could we be positioning ourselves for a very long and drawn out economic slip on a global level?
