Where do you get "fear factor"?
Yes, someone does keep track of news articles (and comments on financial news programs), namely me. I have a system of "polling" a consistent sample of televised and written financial media to gather and analyze info on a number of subjects. Since last June I have included The Fear Factor in this process. The Fear Factor, which treats news of a threatening nature negatively, seems to have bottomed for the period centered last Tuesday, but is staying very near the lows. That is to say, the amount and intensity of terror related news isn't getting any worse, but isn't really letting up in any significant way either. Now, we'll see whether the lead time is just 1/2 wk, or closer to its prior average of 3-5 wks. If the lead time is longer than 1/2 wk we will go lower in the week(s) to come.
