So, by Hegel's logic, Clinton triggered the long-overdue American cultural renaissance by showing the public the end result of their negligence and apathy (in allowing him to seize the White House twice), earlier than they otherwise would have seen it.

The earliest political victims, of course, were Ross Perot and John McCain. The former having killed the ever-re-emerging politics of ignorance that we call "populism" with the general public, while the latter killed it within the Republican party.
