What I suspect, Steve, is that if one were to leap forward in time 1,000 years, they might find that the major religions of the world today will have declined to cult status (looking more like the Polar Bear Club or punk rock as compared to the multinational corporations they presently resemble) and the major religions of tomorrow - which I'm fairly certain will include Lennonites and Presleyans (consequently making holy cities of Liverpool and Memphis)- will be waging wars, proselytizing, and telling everyone else that theirs is the only way.

So sayeth - er, suspecteth - I.

"Dude, don't get pissed at me. Since my God is the one true God I will have him curse you for life"

I am not in the least annoyed at you. I was being satirical.

"Dude, can you tell me why people are not comfortable enough with their own religion not to have to get someone else to agree with them that they are right?"

Because in most religions the separation of the true followers and the blessed from the ungodly and the damned is part and parcel of the dogma.
