Lorne,
Also can pull our troops out of germany and south korea. Let them all fend for themselves. Of course we are both just kidding or are we? The Buchanan brigades under some new charismatic leader may just be calling for this some day. The "bloodthirsty" americans as the europeans now see us may withdraw from the world.
If the europeans, south koreans, and reasonable mideast leaders, are at all smart, they would pull back from the brink of driving the US to a more nativist future. NYT editorial today called for an ultimatum and supported war. The Friedman article last week said much the same thing.
UNSC should agree to one final chance for iraq, taking into account that the US must move within 30 days. Saddam could then start the process of turning over his wmds. If not that french carrier now heading to the Persian gulf could come in handy, unless of course the carrier is going there to engage our forces. Drank my last bottle of french wine last nite. Wont buy another bottle until they change their tune. <g> mike
