"And everyone is totally confused by it even as they think they know what is going on." -- Not me. I know I don't know what is going on!

My pre-trib rapture quip was just that. Just trying to weigh all possible scenarios. My own view is more like yours. I tend to believe we could just as easily go through the Tribulation, but God would spare us His wrath. That's protection during the last 3 1/2 years IF we make it out of the 1st 3 1/2 -- which would not be so likely. The strongest argument for the pre-trib view is "Jacob's Trouble" referring to that time frame as a dealing with God's chosen people exclusively.

The entire time frame of events is clearly not clear. But I believe it will become much more obvious to those who study and watch and will be totally oblivious to the masses who just want to have fun and think this is all "facking nutz", to quote a recent contributor.

If door #2 turns out to be correct, then the USA could indeed be the referenced "Babylon" of the end times. NOT A PRETTY PICTURE.

I remain,

Yes............
From Romans
"12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

Let me clarify scenario #3. First, I was just tossing ideas, not claiming any of them. Second, if #3 is truer than fiction, I believe one can be a Christian, but have little knowledge beyond that one truth to get saved. It is this very fact concerning Bush as to why I can see him actually fulfilling (completely without knowledge) God's plan. He is not behaving properly, perhaps, as you suggest, but he might be bringing about a chain of events that lead to where things have to go. This, of course, does not make him Christian, but it does not rule it out either.
