Bernard, besides Cuba, Mexico is also a big factor in the sugar game. Mexico has been hammering the U.S. to allow them access to export their sugar. The latest bullet in this battle was fired a few weeks ago when Mexico imposed a tax on soft drinks containing U.S.-made high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), forcing soft-drink bottlers to switch from HFCS to Mexican sugar.
