"I cant believe people think this is good enough".

I can't either. I especially could not believe that the Pope was trying to fluff the issue. Very disappointing. These are men that violated a trust, not to mention committed criminal acts.

Kumar. You said...." I printed out the content of the links, for review by my girlfriend (who is catholic), and her reaction was along the lines of "I cant believe people think this is good enough"."....

Agreed that it's not good enough but the point I was trying to make is that at least it is coming out in the open and some people are going to jail and they are being sent to the courts and to jail because members of the catholic religion are speaking out against wrong doing by their leaders. So my question was why don't moselms speak out against their leaders in public for wrong doing. Inciting hatred, murder, child abuse are crimes why don't muslims speak out?

Bill clinton and OJ are good examples of what our society will except and perhaps that is why what is happening to catholic priests for child abuse is not good enough.

And what make you think your Catholic girlfriend is not very clueless in the understanding of her religion. If you cannot type here exact words, then that to me is clear evidence that this is one very clueless Catholic about what a Catholic is. If you base your opinions on those of one very clueless Catholic, then clearly you have very clueless
about what a Catholic is opinions.

Hi Kumar - I am Catholic and very, very outraged at the way the Church has enabled sexual predators to continue their evil by repeatedly putting them back in contact with potential victims.

I believe in forgiveness of sins but that doesn't change sexual orientation. I doubt very much that the Church would have let known recidivist embezzlers have access to Church funds.

I can't help wondering how far up the heirarchy the rottenness goes.
