LOL, Germans own 1/2 of Italy already... and the mountain regions speak lots of German and French. I myself love the French philosophy of 'living for the process' and not 'living as a means to an end'. Creates all sorts of mess as one goes through life, but then, that's what it's all about. The Germanic way [including US & Britain] is 'get there NOW and forget the process... it doesn't matter how you get there. I prefer the French way. Germans??? Well, they're struggling with their past and trying to muddle through and I love them for that. US? We're just starting to learn there are other people in the world, but so far we seem to look on them as objects doing right and wrong rather than just......... people, same as us. We'll learn one way or another... sometimes it looks like the hard way is our way. JMO and massive generalizations of course.... but then again, just words. DAK
