>I would agree with your argument if Saddam was the only problem and our real enemy....al Qaeda......was not ready to pounce on us at a moment's notice. Currently, the CIA believes there are 300 sleepers in the US alone.....more in Canada and Mexico.

I'd think there were even more. However, sleeper cells are going to attack at some point anyway, that's their nature... I'd much rather them attempt something small and spontaneous in "response" to something we do than take the time to plan another 9/11.

>Every aggressive act we perpetrate against the Muslim world brings them more money and recruits.

Does it really, though? How "aggressive" have we really been with them? I'd argue we've handled them with kid gloves.

>You break the back of al Qaeda, then half my complaint re this war goes away.

I just can't see the link. Al-Qaida's an Islamist group with crusader-like visions of grand expansionism, and they're going to use anything they can get as an excuse to attack us. They have a mission. (It's all pretty similar to the Bushies and their one-mindedness towards Iraq). If it's not Iraq, it'll be something else. Al-Qaida should be the aim of the "war on terrorism". The war on Iraq should be a war on Iraq and rogue states. They go hand in hand to some extent, and the Bush administration uses the "war on terrorism" to go after Iraq, but they're really two different things.

I don't care about pissing people off; its the consequences that follow that worry me. These people don't respond by taking you to court for defamation of character; their response is taking you out with a bomb.

If you want to live in a country that turns tail and runs when confronted with a security threat, go by the center square, pick up Alec Baldwin, and move to France. We don't do that in the United States.

Statements like yours insult the memories of those people who died fighting for the freedom Americans have.

Every aggressive act we perpetrate against the Muslim world brings them more money and recruits. You break the back of al Qaeda, then half my complaint re this war goes away.

You are so absolutely naive and uninformed on these issues it is ridiculous. Spend a little time reading instead of so much running off at the mouth and then come back here to discuss these subjects.
