Nadine,

Allowing the Ba'ath party to stay in power would undermine everything that justifies a War on Iraq. I think that the Kurds are negotiating but I would like to see a public response from the administration before the war starts. I would hate to have Win and Jacob cook me up a steaming hot crow stew.

Paul

Washington was preparing to leave Iraq under the control of President Saddam Hussein's Baath Party.

I can see leaving lower level bureaucrats in office, the that Nazi Baath party has got to go, in the same way they went in Germany. You need an "Anti-baath" commission to "D-baath" the Government.
