>The Iraqis aren't going to fight. Last time they surrendered to TV reporters. They want Saddam out of there.

I'm not sure they do, but they'll learn pretty quickly if they don't know already that they don't have much of a choice.

>My guess is we'll see mass surrenders before the fighting starts.

Wouldn't shock me.

There is no comparison with Vietnam. In Vietnam, a weak, liberal president quietly took us to war but was shaking in his boots the entire time. There was no statement of what the mission was to be. The leadership was literally trying to hide it from the country. And LBJ and McNamara refused to provide the military support that was required to do the job.

I am going to tell you again.......I don't deal well with obsessive behavior. When you stop using standard phrases like "a weak, liberal president", then I will read your posts through their entirety.

And btw, your version of the Vietnam war and we we failed is not the official version found in history books.

David Re..There is no comparison with Vietnam.

If we fight it the way Ted and AL want, by containing OBL and terrorism, rather than going on the offensive, Iraq could be another war of containment. And you can bet, there are a lot of Europeans who hope, Iraq and Al qaeda will be like Afghanistan was to Russia. In the end, we will be cut down to size, and they hope their diplomacy will rule.
