I know what I believe and yes I am a Catholic. I have no idea what I would have been taught if I was a Protestant.

The issue is not what flavor of teaching seem OK. The issue is about the logic and reason of what is taught and is that consistent with the underlying message.

If one accepts Christ as the Son of God, then his words trump all. But we also have Christ's life and his deeds to give real meaning on what the words mean.

Now consider, when you listen to the news, do you hear about the thousands of folks how did good deeds or the few who robbed and killed.

Through history, were there those who hated religion and recorded any deed that could make a case to attack the religion. Have humans really changed thru history.

Do we get objective analysis or what the Church was really teaching. I've read a couple of individuals today who seem to think the Pope is intefering with local secular authorities. That 100% mis-informed.
