The laity you mention is in the hi·er·ar·chy of the church. And I would says Nuns are not part of the laity. Nuns are members of Catholic religious orders.

laity

\La"i*ty\ (l[=a]"[i^]*t[y^]), n. [See Lay, a.] 1. The people, as distinguished from the clergy; the body
of the people not in orders.

And if you reread the post I replied to. The analysis was about a catholic religion and not the Catholic religion.

I would only comment you seem to have a weakness in understanding the precise meaning of the words you read and write.

I don't have an informed opinion on your knowledge of Catholicism.
