Egad! That's one ugly story from the anti-war rally in Paris, and the reaction by the police on the shooting incident. Those types of incidents churn my stomach. There was a similar incident in the San Francisco rally where some of the speakers were anti-Sharon (Israel) and probably anti-semitic. One rabbi cancelled his speech at the rally when he found out about those speakers at the rally. The SF rally organizers said they were not able to check the speakers' organizations prior to scheduling the speeches. France apparently has much bigger Jews/Muslim cultural clash and social problem due to the larger muslim population from French colonies. In the US, there were a number of isolated incidents with anti-Arab and anti-muslim sentiments in the few months after Sept 11, 2001. The number has been small because the muslim population is small.
