ShiloCat, realistically we won't do everything right, and there will be some mistakes. But a year from now, things will be looking a lot better for everyone involved when Hussien is killed or out of power.

It's the difference between probabilities and possibilities.

It's possible horrific things will happen, it's possible he will kill thousands of our troops with a biological agent of some sort, and the entire region will be thrown into chaos. Just about anything is *possible*. However, the probabilities are that we will win decisively and bring some form of democracy to the people of Iraq. We've done it before with other nations. We have history as our guide.

I suppose, one of the main reasons I'm so optimistic is I know our military well. I know the kind of people we have in charge, and I know the kind of training and leadership we have up and down the chain of command. This is not the Vietnam era military! They will plan and execute with precision. And I'm confident we will win a rapid decisive victory will minimum casualties.

Contrary to some of the pundits who view our hesitation as vacillation on the part of President Bush, I see it as part of a strategy to deliberately, systematically and steadily ratchet up the unease of those who would follow Hussien to death. Can you imagine what it must be like as a Republican guard on duty night after night for months thinking...."will they start the bombing tonight"?

The daily grind and worry must be an immense psychological burden to bare.
