The success of Coca Cola and MacDonald is about successful marketing and brand recognition. I think they have pretty good products too.

Same for Mercedes and BMW, I do not see any American feeling forced to drive either of these German made cars. They are just good products.

I am pretty sure "American help" were viewed differently 10-20 years ago. It is a little hypocrite to think the "help" is not wanted or needed "today". At least the millions of american dollars spent there should help the economy. Not so?

Well, why there is an argument since both agree American help should pull out now? Just do it. US economy and myself could benifit by US government spend less of my TAX dollars "helping" people who does not need it.

EVA America spent Hundreds of millions rebuilding Germany and western Europe after two wars. We also spent Billions toppling Russia which has enabled Europe to live artificially high standard of living. We wont mention the huge trade imbalances we run with them. Your dislike of politics equals your lack of knowledge of history.

US runs a 35 billion dollar trade deficit with Germany when Germany only imports about 26 billion dollars from the US. It appears Germany is being propped by the US as are many other economies. I think an excise tax on imports that incorporates the cost of maintaining a military would be entirely warranted.
