If anything, the Saudi initiative at the Arab League's Beirut Summit last spring debunked that bogey... But just tell us what you mean exactly by "destruction". For arch-Zionists, the mere downsizing of Israel to its 1967 precincts is indeed the "destruction of Israel", for religious freaks the mere slice-up of Jerusalem is tantamount to the destruction of Israel, whereas for the most lunatic fringe the mere presence of over one million Arab Israelis living --and breeding-- in Israel is a stealth destruction of Israel as a pristine Jewish homeland. The truth, however, is that any destruction of Israel would run contrary to Islam's higher interest. Indeed, the actual tug of war is not between Judaism and Islam but between Christianity and Islam --one billion Christians vs one billion Muslims... The 15 million Jews being a (expendable?) pawn in the hands of the former.
