No. If all that was happening was disinformation we would not have seen the big crowds at the demonstrations in Europe. The politicians were playing to public opinion and that creates a problem if they anticipate changing their minds.

The divisions are very real.

some sense (6th?) is telling me "not yet"....and why the Iran questions are coming up?

Al Qaeda is definitely alive and kicking, but I still say that if OBL hadn't bought the farm in Afghanistan, we'd be seeing videotapes of him now. My bet is that his followers are trying hard to keep him 'alive'.
