How about you explain to me how it is more human to kill some tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians in an attempt to bring Saddam to justice?

Far be it from me to defend a hairy dictator with a single bushy eyebrow. I am defending the thousands an invasion will kill.

Not to mention, of course, that while this invasion will have many consequences, making the world a safer place for westerners in general and Americans in particular will not be one of them.

Setting aside the "let's save the Iraqis from the dictator" bit, I would be interested in a rational analysis of how an invasion of Iraq is in the long term interests of the American nation.
