National Post article on US debt ceiling struggle is ominous

this morning, the effing buffoons on CNBC said
"next up is trade data, which nobody cares about, and nobody understands"

interesting

we assume foreigners will continue to finance the American Profligate Dream
they will not

we assume our federal debt level can rise and rise, without consequences either to the economy or longterm rates
there will be consequences

we sneer at lowly Argentina, with arrogance and deep assumptions
as Noland of Prudent Bear says... (paraphrase)

"as the US Economy is drawn toward the Japanese or Argentina resolutions, we increasingly lean toward the Argentina case"

ouch, reality is to strike very soon
heck, let's blame it all on Iraq
we have become a nation that has abdicated responsibility
