Plysent, Re: “Do you think that Dr J's statement above can be construed as a warning that it may take "at least another decade" for CDMA to achieve 93 to 100% sub market share? I am under the impression that neither tony or bill had indicated a timeframe for 100% market share. If that is the case, then their statement offers no additional information than to put into quantitative terms what QCOM mgmt has been promising for years that "everyone is going CDMA." <<<

What I am suggesting is that Qualcomm no longer needs to rely on “pure” CDMA (CDMA95a, CDMA2000, or WCDMA ) to achieve 100% mobile wireless subscriber market share. 100% mobile wireless subscriber market share can be now be achieved with GSM1x and the dual mode MSM6300 equipped handsets along with ”pure” CDMA networks.

That’s why I believe the “analyst” and financial media communities have totally underestimated Qualcomm’s value and potential as they have failed to understand this new Qualcomm dynamic.

In order for Qualcomm to penetrate that market they must get all carriers to adopt the sim card. This will be key in getting a true multiple mode raoming phone that goes everywhere.
