David Re..I disagree. Look at the current crop of candidates the Democrats are putting forth. Their best shot is with Kerry, who can only be classified as an extremist, Kennedy liberal. While the NY liberals want Hillary, she is hated so much throughout the other states she'll never get elected.

I gotta say that while Edwards isn't ready for big time yet, he will be by 2008, and will be someone to be reckoned with. Kerry will probably beat him in 04 however, is my WAG.

That won't happen unless the Republicans become willing to espouse some liberal domestic causes on their own.

Let's keep in mind that Bush signed into law (much to my dismay<g>) a hugely liberal farm bill as well as a liberal education bill.
