Ted Re..And do you realize that the main intent of NATO was to keep a dangerous Russia at bay? Of course, unlike you I was around when Nato was formed. And I mentioned it several times over the weekend. Now that Russia, or more importantly, the Warsaw pact have disbanded, perhaps NATO should regroup, or down size to meet a smaller, less defined enemy. I have never once seen Europe go into denial Say, you are a young whippersnapper. How about how the americans saved W Berlin, when the Germans were dumbfounded. How about Germany refusing to recognize their anti semitism. France is always trying to disrupt things. This is hardly new. It's just been awhile. Its the US that was sleeping quietly in the months before 9/11....not Europe. Sure, that could be classified as a form of denial. But the kind of diligence it takes to stop terrorism is enormous if not impossible. To contain determined terrorists, most of the time, I think is impossible. That is why we need to go on the offensive. Defense ain't going to work completely.
