No one contends Blair can't deliver a good speech. That's sort of how he became Britain's prime minister. Paradoxically, Bush got to become president without any great speechmaking ability. Call it an inside thing. Now Blair has become part of that inside thing. So trusting what Blair says today is like trusting Bush's speechmakers--neither come anywhere near the truth of the reality in debate.
