Civil war is different from a convention war that could become a non-conventional war that could spread beyond the region itself into a world war.

Right now--and I truly believe I'm correct--Bush has got the table set so that most Americans think it's only a Bush is gonna take Saddam out kind of thing. I don't believe there's any level of serious deep thought as to the implications that this war could bring.

Maybe Bush, instead of visiting easy-audienced schools and naturally-supportive veterans organizations should do some grassroots education and outline the risks of such a war--how would Pakistan react? What could happen in Turkey, etc. Most folks have no idea who the Kurds are except they've heard vaguely here and there that they've been kicked around a lot. And guess what. Read the current plans. Hey, whatta ya know: the Kurds get screwed again!

Every now and then a young student will ask: Mr. President, how come we bring bombs and not food to other people? Then the president goes on about how we do give out food. But does he describe the contingencies to getting that food?

Mr. president, what's a Kurd?

First you need to find out why and who brought about the
Middle East. There is a very long history behind it, once
you learn about that then you will start to solve the
puzzle.

BTW, after the Iran hostage crisis, US got locked out of
the region and ever since UK has been the only dominating
force in the region, politically that is. The current
action of the US regime is to find a foot hold in that
region, again. Of course US diplomacy has been a
major failure therefor they are going to achieve that by
force, one way or another.
Also keep this in mind UK has a lot more at stake than
any other colonialist in the region.
US has been an Imperialist for a very long time and they
have done stuff like this under the name of fighting the
communism, but now without the Communism, well everything
is being done right out in the open or under the name
of fighting the bad guys. In other words, this is the New World Order.
JMHO

Some people like to see that happen. Lots of dough can be made selling armaments during nulti-tribal conflicts.
