You are wrong to think this is just about France or even Iraq. Here is another byproduct of the new US foreign policy -- the very real risk of a nuclear war and a nuclear arms race in Asia:

<<SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea (news - web sites) threatened on Tuesday to abandon the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War, accusing the United States of plotting an attack on the communist state.

A spokesman of the North's Korean People's Army claimed that the United States was building up reinforcements around the Korean Peninsula in preparations to attack the North, said the North's official news agency KCNA.

"The situation is, therefore, getting more serious as the days go by as it is putting its plan for pre-emptive attacks on the (North) into practice," KCNA quoted the unidentified spokesman as saying.>>

>> thats ridiculous Craig. <<

what's ridiculous, michelle? that the french were woefully unprepared to take on the germans? i will agree with that much. but andy rooney is ignorant if he thinks the french were cowardly in surrendering to the germans. they were completely overrun! what is his idea of courage and honor? stand there and be slaughtered at dunkirk? remember, for every frenchman there were twice as many brits fleeing for their lives across the english channel.

>> They just jump on board with whoever they think the winner will be in any conflict. <<

well then the french out to side with the US, because saddam will clearly lose in a confrontation with the US.
