I don't have clue about what you talking about. You seem to be saying that using ones own beliefs to attempt to explain the context of how one sees other religions has nothing to do with Foreign Policy Discussion. It seems to me that religion and what religions mean to folks is at the heart of just about every Foreign Policy Discussion.

I was not discussing God and as you say no-one was offended by that.

Do you have any comments on my thoughts on the nature of understanding another's perspective and the value of that in attempting to understand their views. It seems to me to be related to the discussion of any issue.

Or is the idea that in certain cases ones faith dictates elements of logic forbidden to be discussed.

Do I conclude, After all the problems of the world today have nothing to do with the logic and rational dictated by an individuals faith.

Lindy expressed a concern about where I was going. I explained where I was going. I thought I explained it clearly. But I don't know where you are going or what your objection is.

As I said don't have a clue as to why anyone is offended by discussions that touch on personal beliefs. If someone has no belief in God, then their perspective is based on logic and rational that takes that into account. That logic can be rational of faulty independent of anothers faith. But in certain cases ones faith dictates elements of logic. That logic may also be rational of faulty.

I really don't see that as an example of a discussion about God. What I said in bold is at the heart of so much mis-understanding and mis-communications. And in current Foreign Policy Discussion, it is also at the heart of honest understanding. What is at the heart of honest understanding is not about if one has faith or not. It is understanding that having faith or not brings different perspectives and may in certain cased dictate a position. It is simply a statement of the logical posibilities and not stating any of the posibilities has to be the right one or the wrong one.
