To: Sam who wrote (17220 ) 2/18/2003 10:16:37 AM From: sea_urchin Respond to of 81204 Sam >The USA was attacked on sept 11 and war was pronounced untill we succede and win the battle In my opinion, there are many problems around 911 and, even to this day, no proper evidence has been presented that bin Laden or Al Qaeda or whoever was behind it. There has, in fact, been no true inquiry. Certainly, there is no evidence whatsoever that Saddam was implicated. The world was simply shown some photos of so-called "terrorists" who were said to be involved, most of whom were actually Saudis and twelve of whom are still alive. Nonetheless, the incident was used as a pretext to destroy the Taliban and perform a regime change in Afghanistan. (Not forgetting putting an oil pipeline from Uzbekistan to Pakistan in order to export Central-Asian oil). Now, although there is absolutely no evidence that he has any, we are told that Saddam is about to attack the US and whoever else with his weapons of mass destruction. Yes, I know there are certain discrepancies between what the Iraqis said they had left after the war with Iran 20 years ago and what they say they have now but that does not constitute evidence. And, in my opinion, it certainly does not constitute a reason for a war in which many innocent people will be killed, including US soldiers. However, and most conveniently, Saddam happens to be sitting on the second biggest oil reserves in the world. I appreciate your anxiety concerning "terrorists" --- but where are they? In fact, who are they? One can hardly drop a 1000lb bomb on a house because one wants to kill an invisible spider. You mention that we must be with you or we are against you. The truth is that we are with you, in fact, we are all in this together. There is nowhere for any of us to hide. The problem is that many people, myself included, don't agree with the solution which the US government is trying to apply. Furthermore, there are many people, myself included, who believe the US government is actually the one who is making the mischief. And, if not all, then certainly a good deal of it.
