Without a doubt the the most severe punishment for our children came when they endangered themselves. This was especially true for our son. When a kid tries to stick a fork into an electrical socket it is very important to get their attention.

You are absolutely correct. A perfect example is a pro choicer...they abuse children every day by taking their "see no evil" approach to an abortionist ending the lives of children.
