When Bush did stupid things, many people thought it was cute in a Reagan or Forrest Gump kind of way. If he could be President anyone could. I think there is a sea change now, People are realizing that stupidity leads not just to colorful speech or snowmobiles in the parks, but to massive death, debt, and uncertainty, and that's not so cute anymore.
