<Hell, nobody in the world likes the Russians! >

Really? They seem okay to me. I never did like Yeltsin and thought they were nuts putting him in charge instead of Gorby. Russia seems okay to me. They are keeping the Islamic Jihadists in Chechnya reasonably under control, despite a few terrorist attacks in Moscow.

What have the Russians done lately that you didn't like? It was a shame they fell for the USA rubbish about how great democracy is, instead of doing what China did and sticking with a gradual programme. China would NOT now be the economic powerhouse it is if a duplication of the destruction of the USSR had happened if the mob in Tienanmen Square had taken over.

The answer to the mob in Tienanmen Square was to just leave them there. Winter would eventually sort out the problem of blockage and if they wanted to stay there, why worry?

Dictatorial bullies don't like defiance though. The USA has better mob control techniques, but even there, they managed to kill a few students at Kent State and a bunch of women and children at Waco [who were completely surrounded so there was no need to attack at all - just do like the British with IRA = wait for them to come out eventually].
