My perception is that the greatest animosity, these days, whether in the halls of great nations or in the streets, is between those who believe in free trade and those who don't. Most of the people marching Saturday are anti-free trade, anti-globalization, which is why they hate Bush and America so much.

Ding. Ding. Ding!!!!!!!!!

Karen posted a while back that she is afraid that the US is stepping back from the progress made by the New Deal and Great Society. She is correct. Much of the resentment towards Bush is a fear that the Left's agenda has been defeated and the worldview underlying that agenda is failing. People don't surrender their worldview easily or gratefully.

It is dangerously simplistic to dismiss the anti-war arguments but the anti-american sentiment (even in America) that fuels the anger needs to be parsed.

Wow that must have been some research project. The had the questionnaires in all those languages and were able to tabulate so fast?

WHere is that research. I'd love to see it.
