They are not Socalists or Communists like many of the demonstrators. They are Muslims; mostly without the freedom to demonstrate.

do we ever see a demonstration in the arab states that aren't state sponsored and controlled?

i do recall seeing some iraqis (not exiles) participating in marches...of course i put as much credence in iraqi's "demonstrations" as i do their "votes"
