the thing i don't get about the gold crowd is many of the gold bugs - and i don't know if you are part of this group, i'm just saying - seem to think the world really is coming to an end. which is fine. i don't have a problem with the idea of economic collapse. what i have a problem with is why the same people think gold is going to be of any use. if the US economy collapses gold will be about as useful and valuable as a dead parrot. you can't eat it. you can't stop infections with it. you can't run the internet on it. you and i won't be able to make coins out of it. it makes lousy bullets. etc etc etc. warehousing antibiotics and cigarettes i understand. warehousing gold bricks i don't.
