I found it neither ironic, nor funny, nor sad. If indeed these are items the populance lacks because Saddam has been illegally diverting his food-for-oil resources into illegal military programs, the poipulance might well be grateful to receive what to us are casually assumed basics of life but to them may well be luxuries. I frankly don't know what the condition of the average Iraqui family is. Nor, I suspect, do you. I assume those on the ground in the middle east have more information about their condition and needs than I so. So I am not going to condemn this effort out of ignorance and bias.
