re:So that's how you measure relevancy

Let's use your model of 100,000 is not quite a million so it's OK. You did notice it was France that threatened a veto if the UN acted on the evidence of the Kurish massacres was used against Saddam. Those bastards have no problem making money off Saddam's reign of terror. Talk about trading blood for money, leave it to the French to show the way a civilized nation does things.

But Eric, what about us? We are asking for Turkey's help to depose Saddam while they too are killing the Kurds left and right.

If that's not hypocrisy, I don't know what is. And where have the NATO allies been when Turkey was committing genocide the last ten years? At least the EU is telling Turkey you need to clean up your act before you can join us.

The whole place is a mess but it works....its gross but it works. And doing anything to change that will probably make things worse right now rather than better.

We need to wait until some of the more advanced countries like Jordan and Saudi Arabia get closer to democracy. Then you can go in and start cleaning house. Its much like bringing an old inner city neighborhood back to life. There have to be some solid anchors before restoration of the housing stock will work. And its the same in the ME.
